I’m Chinelle

A Trinidad-born, Tampa-rooted birth photographer with salt in my hair and a camera in hand.

I photographed my first birth in 2011 and have been riding that wave ever since. I don’t do family sessions or weddings or anything else that pulls me from what I’m here to do: honor birth in all its raw, sacred, transformative beauty.

I live right in the middle of Tampa, which means I can be anywhere—Wimauma to Wesley Chapel, St. Pete to Lakeland—in under 45 minutes. That comes in handy when babies are on their own timeline (and trust me, they usually are).

I’ve built this work around deep respect: for the birth space, for your power, and for your story. If you’re looking for a birth photographer who brings calm, experience, and just the right amount of reverence and realness... you’ve found her.

  • Chinelle is wonderful. She has a great attitude and works SO hard! She's a seriously amazing boss babe for real. I hired her to do video of my birth. I had previously miscarried and was anxious with this pregnancy. She was kind and patient with me as l worked through my issues. And then, when my baby was breech and my birth plans had to be changed, and everything was up in the air until the very last minute, she rolled with the punches and was awesome. Her video work was wonderful, and she went above and beyond for my family. I definitely recommend her and am so glad we hired her.   • Let's be real. There are moments in life that change you... and to have the opportunity to have one of those moments captured to revisit is, well, a crazy amazing thing if you think about it. My husband and I have been in multiple births (I'm a labor + delivery RN as well as, you guessed it, a birth photographer). With my husband actually being the more talented of the two of us in capturing the beauty in moments, I could have EASILY leaned towards him snapping a few photos and videos here and there BUT OH HOW I WOULD HAVE MISSED OUT. Needless to say, we are pretty "choosy" on photographers and videographers... we just know what we like... and Chinelle is ridiculously talented and has a natural eye for capturing the emotion, beauty and heaviness of birth. We could not decide on if we wanted her to do photos or videos, so we of course had her do BOTH... and NEITHER is lacking. We will again and again recommend her.   • Having a birth photographer is the BEST decision you will ever make. I immediately felt connected with Chinelle through seeing her work and even more so when we met. She checked in on me throughout pregnancy and spent time getting to know our family...that made it feel natural for her to be at my birth, capturing me in my most vulnerable moments. She is SO incredibly talented. My labor went extremely fast, so I doubted that it was time for her to come (no one else was on their way yet).
